227's Little Life Reminder

... I put these up on the board everyday. I have a journal, that I write in, that has a new one of these for each page. I remember getting this journal and saying, I'm going to use this in my classroom...

... so today, I strolled in, as I normally do, at 7am (today was 7:05 - I ran late). I love the peacefulness of the school at this time of the day. No other teacher is really here, based on the parking lot, there is about 8 of us. No students. It's just silent, quiet, and stress-free. I check my email, my facebook, my blogs, my bills [:(], my shipping dates for Christmas gifts [just to remind myself of the excitement!], my planner, and update everything. I then go ahead and put up my students homework for the night, look at my plan book, and make sure I know what's going on.

Time for that little reminder to be updated. Side note - I'm not even sure if my students notice, they've never said anything about it, but I'm sure someone, at one point, has been bored enough to look around and notice it. Not that I'm a boring teacher, but some students just don't want to be entertained...

227's Little Life Reminder: BE BRAVE

Ok, so if there was anything that could have been used to respond to my thoughts and my last post, it was that. Geez Louise! I'll be brave. I get it. Time to 'man-up' as we used to say in high school.

I need to be brave. I'm tired of spending my life amused by it's everyday workings. This past Sunday, in church, I heard the break-down of that word. To muse is to ponder. Putting an "a" in front of a word is to make it negative, which makes it the lack of pondering. A lack of thinking. It's being amused or entertained with life. Although I beleive this is an important element in life, to be entertained, I also think it is more important to ponder life. To muse about it.

I'm tired of being amused. No more.
